Episode 15 of the OMPodcast is now available for download – v1.15 Google I/O 2014. Keith Smyth (Android Team Lead) kicked off this week’s show by welcoming back Pete Talbot (Visual Design Team Lead). Joined by Joel Schmidt (Android Developer) and Pece Nikolovski (iOS Team Lead/Android Developer), the crew discuss announcements from this year’s Google I/O.

Pete introduces us to Material Design, and what this means for both designers and developers. The guys also discuss Polymer, bridging the gap between web and native development, ART (Android runtime), and notifications on the L Preview.

The latest episode of the OMPodcast is available to download with a particularly number heavy title – v1.13 5G in 2020. This week we were very excited to have a special guest on the show, Dr Hugh Bradlow, Telstra’s Chief Technology Officer. On the Outware panel this week we had Kent Humphries (iOS Team Lead), Keith Smyth (Android Team Lead) and Danny Gorog (Director/Co-Founder).

We talked about a broad spectrum (pardon the pun) of mobile related topics including 5G, Android releases and vendor relationships, wearables and iOS8. Hugh explained to us how Telstra’s innovation process works, and how they leverage their size to come up with fresh ideas. We also kept coming back to driverless cars and how they could make our lives better.

Great news! Our latest app, AFL Live for Pebble, the first live sports app for Pebble smartwatch is now available on the Pebble App Store.

AFL Live for Pebble is the best way to follow a live AFL Game. Get live scores at a glance, countdown to upcoming match starts and set your Pebble to vibrate when a goal is scored.

For those of you who don’t already own a Pebble, we made a video that demonstrates the functionality: http://vimeo.com/96446125

To install AFL Live for Pebble head to the Pebble app on your iOS or Android devices and search for AFL.

The Outware team has done a fantastic job designing and developing this Pebble app. We think this is a great showcase for the power of Wearable technology, and is one of the most exciting apps we’ve seen on any wearable platform to date.

We’ve got many more innovative projects for wearables coming soon – so stay tuned!
