The BRW Fast Starter Awards celebrate Australia’s fastest growing new businesses across all industries.

The award is a great recognition of the hard work the Outware team has put in since we began our journey in September 2009.

The Annual AIMIA Awards are the longest running and most prestigious Awards in Australia’s Digital Industry. Entries are judged by a panel of over 160 Australian & International industry experts.

The Vic Heritage app, developed for the Department of Planning and Community Development explores the histories of the most important and unusual places in Melbourne and regional Victoria.

This rich informative app spans significant places from the 1840s to the present, the captures everything from Victorian to modern architecture; from houses to industrial spaces; from mansions to bridges; from public toilets to trees and gardens.

We’re super excited to have received this award and look forward to creating more award winning apps for our clients.

Apple has also featured it as a primary tile on the App Store for the week.

NRL Live for iPhone and Android is a free app that provides live scores and stats, news updates and ladder information. Customers can subscribe to watch premium content including live video streams of most games.

The app highlights one of the key features of the iPhone and Android apps; the ability to view live NRL matches on the go.

Reporter Nigel Freitas spent the morning at Outware Mobile HQ learning about how we make apps.

We took him through the development process which includes wireframing, designing, developing and testing and deployment.

If you want to understand more about the process of developing apps this video should provide a lot of insight.

The Deloitte Technology Fast 500 Asia Pacific Ranking measures and recognizes growth of the fastest-growing technology companies in the region. Five hundred companies are ranked according to revenue growth rates over the past three years.

This incredible result is a recognition of the hard work the Outware team has put in over the past three years and our fantastic clients and partners.

According to the report:

The 500 companies in the 2012 ranking did surprisingly well considering macroeconomic circumstances, maintaining an average three-year growth rate of 467 percent versus 476 percent in 2011 and still representing steady recovery from the 2010 figure of 374 percent. The sharp drop-off in the average growth rate of this year’s top five performers (from 9,910 percent in 2011 to 6,837 percent in 2012) was not duplicated in the rest of the field: there the story was of steady resurgence, demonstrating the strength and depth that Asia Pacific Technology Media and Telecommunications companies can deliver at every stage of the business cycle.

The segment outlined some of the challenges of creating an app and reinforced the idea that success in the App Store is anything but guaranteed.

In our first year on the list, Outware Mobile came in at #3 in the Fast Riser awards. This means that we are the 3rd fastest growing young Australian technology company.

However, the two companies above us are web-based products, which means that Outware are the fastest growing young software company in Australia!

This is a fantastic testament to the hard work of the entire team at Outware and our great relationship with our incredible range of clients.

As a result, Outware have been invited to the Deloitte Technology Fast 500 in Hong Kong which we will be attending. Fingers crossed!
